Day 10 - So today was a bit rough!? Definitely a walking only kind of day to conserve energy as today we combined the intermittent fasting with a liquid fast for 24 hours...…..
So basically our usual six hour window to consume calories has become a window for only liquid calories. Can you say grumpy mama? It's important to do a liquid fast at least monthly though, as it provides our digestive system with a rest, supports healthy liver function, promotes general detoxification and of course elevates weight loss as it keeps our body on it's toes!
Check out our video below for suggestions of possible soups and juices to consume during a liquid fast..... If your not vehemently opposed, make sure to add some pineapple juice (the kind with the pulp so your not drinking liquid fructose) and some beet juice to your fast. This article from Dr. Axe gives a bit more detail on the tremendous benefits of pineapple and navigate your browser HERE for more information on beet juice. Of course, we definitely still incorporate our daily essential oils into our juices but that's a topic for another day....
Day 9 - Sugar cravings becoming a real struggle?! Sugar detox is totally a real thing because after the consumption of sugar, chemicals are released in your body that legitimately make you crave more so you can actually have withdrawal symptoms when quitting sugar. However, there is hope!
Personally, there are a few things that have worked tremendously well over the past week or so to get rid of those sugar cravings so as to keep pushing for a healthier 2019. Check out this video for more suggestions so you can quiet the sugar monster! Afterwards, use the recipe below to create your own Paleo Fudge.....

Day 8 - Totally shaky, legs quaking and stomach growling but finished my first round of body pump! What an awesome way to work out with weights and build muscle but not get bored.... Thank goodness for my Deep Blue Rub as these muscles are sore.... What's your favorite workout?
Day 7- Let’s talk about energy!? At this point we are experiencing so much more energy from eating healthy and making sure we exercise (although it still requires a self motivating pep talk each day)..... Day 6 - So who has had a crazy busy weekend? It was definitely full of un-decorating from Christmas, decluttering and getting things back to normal (whatever that is?!)....
Unfortunately, that means we’ve not had time to do an update video BUT definitely wanted to share one of the most instrumental videos that has helped us so far along this journey instead.
Combining intermittent fasting along with a diet containing mostly protein, fruits and vegetables makes a huge impact regardless of activity level and elevate energy levels significantly!
Day 4 - Down 4lbs in four days... definitely not due to exercise since that department has eluded me the past few days unfortunately. It’s so difficult to find time to work out but will definitely do better starting today!

So what’s a great way to start the day if you’re eating breakfast or a great way to break a fast if you’re doing intermittent fasting (we will discuss that down the road)? So one of the biggest challenges of course is food! It must be filling and delicious but yet fit within the parameters of high fat, low carb for accelerated weight loss and lean muscle mass.... plus of course be easy too (and cost effective). We absolutely LOVE this meal for these exact reasons..... AND the herbs have excellent detoxifying properties too!
Southwestern Style Beef
1 lb Grassfed Ground Beef
1 package frozen cut onions and bell peppers (or cut fresh ones if you choose)
2 Tbsp chopped garlic
8 oz cut mushrooms
4 Tbsp Frontier Mexican Seasoning
4 Tbsp Dried Cilantro
4 Tbsp Dried Oregano
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Saute all ingredients except avocados until meat is browned and vegetables are soft. Serve and top with avocado. Serve with a side salad or other desired vegetables. YUM!
Going to be totally transparent for a moment.... who else has spent months (or even years) saying “starting tomorrow”.... I’ll start eating healthier; start working out; make more time for my family; take time to take care of myself.... ect.
Yet, each day other things shove these thoughts aside and we put ourselves on the back burner.... 2018 started a two year plan for me.... 2018 was the year to find balance and with that somewhat accomplished, 2019 is going to be the second part...
The part where I find physical balance.... it’s time to workout every day; gain strength and endurance.... time to give my body everything it needs to give me the energy to travel with my family, having many new adventures!
